Two main streets intersect the town of Helston and just two miles from Helston is the bustling harbour village of Porthleven, with its friendly atmosphere and picturesque harbour. Porthleven is located on the route of the Coastal Path. There are interesting walks around the Porthleven area including Penrose Park, which has a large fresh water lake
